* The rainfall data for the 31st was actually 1.8 mm. The rain gauge bucket had become blocked over the previous few days, probably on the 27th or 28th, so 40.4 mm represent the additional, unrecorded rain on those two days which was retained and then poured through when the blockage was removed. The monthly total of 237 mm is accurate, bar a small spillage (the odd 10th of a mm).
